Afidah Azwa binti Abdul Aziz brings over two decades of dedicated service in public finance and investment governance, currently serving as Deputy Undersecretary in the Government Investment Companies Division, Ministry of Finance (MOF).
She holds a Master’s degree in Development Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the International Islamic University Malaysia, and a Diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN).
Afidah’s expertise spans public sector investment strategy, fiscal policy, and financial performance monitoring of GLICs. Since joining MOF in April 2001, she has been at the forefront of policy formulation, corporate oversight, and strategic financial planning for government-linked investment companies and statutory bodies.
She has been directly involved in evaluating and restructuring major public-private concession agreements, and played an instrumental role in various sukuk issuance evaluations, bringing strong understanding of Islamic finance and long-term fiscal instruments.
In her current portfolio, Afidah represents MOF on the boards of several statutory and government-linked organisations, where she contributes to governance, performance evaluation, and the alignment of strategic mandates with national priorities.
Afidah’s long-standing experience in government financial operations and her deep familiarity with investment governance complement Pernas’ mandate to support and grow resilient Malaysian enterprises.
